MY VISION FOR THE WORLD

Our world has been polluted by greed, lust, gluttony, envy, pride, sloth and wrath which has led to racism, war, violence, poverty, fight against religion, and discrimination of all type. This has caused much suffering to all mankind. Many challenges have to be faced in fighting this battle in order to restore the harmony that the world once was. This is why my vision for the world is to bring peace and unity to the world.

With peace, the people can stand united. When we are united, so many things, even the unimaginable can be achieved because to be united is to be one. To be one in mind, one at heart and one in purpose. To believe in one another and to put aside all of our differences, working together to achieve our goal and our vision for the greater good!
With peace and unity, advancement and progress in technology through diversity can be achieved. For example, advancement in finding cures for diseases and saving millions of lives can be a reality. Without unity, pharmaceutical companies would be selling drugs that could cure millions for exorbitant and discriminary profits. Without peace, countries with advance medical technology will hold back crucial medication that could save many lives in the poorer countries.

Through peace and unity, we can even reduce global warming and climate change, therefore saving the environment and saving the earth. Countries can be in unison and in agreement to projects with the sole purpose of saving the environment, to make the world a greener place to live in. For example, one of the most successful projects that was carried out recently was the Earth Hour in the year 2009 whereby electricity was not used for an hour to reduce global warming. This is a very big example of the unity that we strive for in the process of creating a better world for us to live in.

That is why, we as individuals should realize the importance of peace and unity in our lives and take part in this mission to restore the balance in this world. A good start has been initiated by the leaders of our country such as the “1 Malaysia” concept created by our respected prime minister. This was created to promote peace and unity among the citizens of Malaysia. To make this mission a success, virtues such as compassion, understanding, patience, tolerance, inclusiveness and trust must be instilled in our hearts and minds. This is the only the beginning and a great start for a good change for the better. We should expand this concept to include the rest of the world to build a unified society because WE can make a difference.
